Fitness: Bring Charm Into Your Fitness Routine, by Sandra O’Brien

Charm is the power of pleasing or attracting, or something you wear to attract a magical effect. What if you brought the energy of charm into each workout? What if the vibration of your desires was literally being manifested in the actions of moving your body? What if you were sculpting, molding your body literally to charm, to attract into your life all you desire? Exercise can become an avenue to prepare your body to show up in its most magnificent state. A way to prepare and ensure you look and feel your best, living the life you wish to experience. Taking the time to move your body with the mindset of pleasing yourself, of giving something of great value to you, is delicious.

Here is a move you can do for the next 30 days to charm your body. It will improve your upper body strength and core, sculpt your arms and even build mental toughness and focus.

To perform the move start in downward dog. Come forward into high plank, and lower to low plank, push up to high plank and push back to downward dog. This is one rep. Remember to engage your core the entire time, draw your shoulder blades down your back and breathe. Should you feel any discomfort in your lower back, you may drop your knees to the ground for both high, and low plank.

Day 1 through 5, you will perform five reps daily. Day 6 through 10 you will perform ten reps. Day 11 will consist of 11 reps, Day 12 you will do 12 reps, all the way through you will add on one rep per day until Day 30 you perform 30 reps.

Your mind may well shut you down, tell you “enough already”, long before your body is ready to give up. This is what happens in most cases for the average person. It is why as you persevere you build up your mental strength, not just your physical strength!

When we feel that we look good, when we feel strong, healthy and have an abundance of energy, we simply strut differently. Others see us in a positive light, they respond from a different place based on the vibration we are giving off. We cannot control how others view us, or what they choose to think about us. However, we can put our best foot forward and increase the likelihood of a friendly and productive encounter. In addition, and more importantly, charming ourselves, taking actions, having thoughts that are pleasing to us, is the most important activity we can do to love ourselves.

Finding ease in each rep, seeking space with each hold, to create something new, a better feeling, in our bodies and lives, will serve us well. Getting out of your head, witnessing the feelings in your body, being in the moment is a wonderful way to charm the marvellous wonder of You.
