December 2016: Enduring (Read the Full Issue)

Welcome to the December 2016 edition of Parvati Magazine.

It takes a special kind of courage to look straight at a painful situation and ask what it is teaching you. Such courage requires a form of ego death, letting go of feeling that life is happening to us. It gives us the power to reclaim parts of ourselves that we gave away long ago to ideas we have about ourselves that do not serve who we truly are.

I believe that the universe is deeply compassionate. Like a wise and loving mother, she first lightly touches our shoulder to help bring our attention to what we need to learn. If we are not paying attention, she then takes hold more firmly, so we can wake up to our ways. Eventually, the Earth will shake and we are summoned to our core so we can see who we really are.

In this month’s issue, you will find articles to support you seeing beyond illusion to your enduring nature of light.

Thank you for reading the December 2016 edition of Parvati Magazine.

Nothing is ever happening “to me”. What is this “me” to whom we feel it is all being done? Does Buddha put up his dukes to burglars who assault him on his path? Does Christ swear and curse at the injustice of his torture? They show us that we are not who we think we are, not limited small selves that need to fight to survive. We are infinite beings of pure consciousness, unable to be broken or bound. Yes, our bodies may break, but no one can ever break who we truly are.

Even through pain, rage and distress, we are part of a loving and compassionate whole that has been with us all along. The universe shows us where true freedom, joy and wholeness lie.

Love yourself.
Love others.
Love our world.
We are one Earth family.
