May 2017: Laughter (Read the Full Issue)

Welcome to the May 2017 edition of Parvati Magazine.

The spiritual path asks for focus and discipline. Yet, we are also called not to take ourselves too seriously while we cultivate an effervescent spirit. The Dalai Lama laughs and jokes on many occasions. At some of her spiritual talks, my teacher Amma has asked her devotees to pick up the microphone and tell jokes or to play patty cakes while singing bhajans. Laughter is indeed soul medicine that loosens our mental and physical tension and helps us to become truly present.

Please enjoy the following articles that an amazing group of volunteers and experts in their fields share with you to bring a smile to your heart and lightness in your step. I am particularly pleased this month to bring you a special double feature interview from Dr. Deepak Chopra, who recently published his book You Are The Universe with Menos Kafatos.

Enjoy!

Thank you for reading the May 2017 edition of Parvati Magazine.

The Vietnamese Zen monk Thich Nhat Hanh suggests that a slight curl at the side of our lips relaxes our whole body. In the Judeo-Christian tradition proverb says, “He that is of a merry heart has a continual feast.”

May all of this month’s issues help you to feel fun and abundant in spirit. As you move through this month, take the time to nourish yourself with that which evokes your open-hearted delight. See if you can be inspired by the budding spring energy and meet the day with effervescence and joy. I know from my own experience, that when I open to what is right before me, a sense of spacious delight arises and my soul giggles.

Until next time, remember:

Love others.

Love our world.

We are one Earth family.

Namaste,
Parvati
