Welcome to the June 2017 edition of Parvati Magazine.

We live in a beautiful, yet agitated world. Every day, as we move through our lives, we are flooded with images that potentially stir our minds and affect how we think and feel. When in human history has there been such demand to ingest and process a breadth and depth of information so quickly?

Whether we are aware of it or not, in every moment around the globe, people are violently attacked, raped and brutally murdered in wars between nations and disputes between people. Millions are in pain right now from profound lack – not just lack of the basics such as food, water and shelter, but lack of fundamental goodness, such as kindness, respect and love.

In these intense times, it is more important than ever to feed your mind, heart and soul with that which makes you the most patient, kind, wise and loving person possible, to help ease the suffering in the world.

May this month’s articles on the theme “stepping up” nourish your being so you may serve a world in need.

The term “spiritual activist” has become a popular term among today’s conscious communities. But, since peacefulness arises from a state of non-attachment and unity, what does activism really mean for a sincere spiritual seeker?

Peacefulness is lost in aggression, divisiveness, finger pointing and ego stroking. When there is disconnection, there is suffering. When one suffers, in essence, we all suffer.

Spiritual activism is something few can do, because it is expressed in the absence of ego. But as great saints show us, it is our human destiny. Not only can we do it, but we were born to do it. We are here to free ourselves from the ego’s grip and live harmoniously.

May each one of us remember who we truly are as eternal beings of light and aspire to serving all beings equally.

Until next time,

Love yourself.
Love others.
Love our world.
We are one Earth family.

Namaste,
Parvati
