Parvati Magazine-April-2018-Being

April 2018: Being (Read the Full Issue)

Welcome to the April 2018 edition of Parvati Magazine.

“The only thing that ultimately matters is this: Can I sense my essential Beingness, the I Am, in the background of my life at all times?”
– Eckhart Tolle

The subject this month, “Being”, is so close to my heart that for a while, I called my blog posts “Being Love Letters”. If you meditate, you may know of the space between breaths, the momentary pause that exists between the inhale and exhale. It is the space between thoughts that opens the gateway to the underlying reality of pure consciousness beyond the grip of the thinking mind.

Athletes and artists touch this place when they are surrendered to their task and time dissolves, the sense of separate self is gone and all that exists is the perfection of what is. Lovers touch this place when life feels perfect, whole, as though million-watt bulbs were just turned on and everything bloomed into technicolour. Heroes touch this place when they throw all caution to the wind and dive into a seemingly impossible situation, experiencing the momentary death of their ego, expanding into the realm of eternal possibility. This is the space of beingness.

This month, discover the perspectives of psychologist and Buddhist practitioner Dr. Rick Hanson, Ashtanga and Kundalini yogini Kia Miller, the lyrical Zimbabwe-born musician Thabo, nutritionist Gena Hamshaw, RMS Beauty founder Rose-Marie Swift, our review of the heart-opening “Greatest Showman”, my guidance on connecting with beingness, and more.

Enjoy!

Onword

Thank you for reading the April 2018 issue of Parvati Magazine.

We are human beings, not human doings. How easy it is to get caught up in thinking that we are the roles we play and the actions we take. Our spiritual practice reminds us that we are not the doers. A life-force much more potent than our individual will animates us, moves through us and sustains us. In essence, we are not what we do, but the witness to the unfolding of that life force. We experience lasting joy when we humbly serve its arising in trust and deep surrender.
This month, may you discover the richness of being.

Until next month, remember:
Love yourself.
Love others.
Love our world.
We are one Earth family.
