Mission Mindset, by Sandra O’Brien

Developing a New Mindset is the Key to Having it ALL!

Committing to a daily workout, minimum of four days a week, is key. What is the one sure way to ensure you do that? You must reprogram your mind. You must stop seeing yourself as someone who is on a diet, “trying “ to lose weight, fat, or pounds. Let’s say you are a non-smoker, on your way to the store to buy a magazine. You do not think before going to the store, “I hope I can avoid the temptation to buy cigarettes.” No, you see yourself as a non-smoker. The thought of buying cigarettes does not enter your mind when you are in the store.

So you must think of yourself as a person who eats to create and maintain a beautiful, energetic body. The thought of buying chips, processed cookies, candy, ice cream, pop, white bread and the like does not even enter your mind.

Here are a few daily action-steps to reprogram your mind and support your goals:

1. Work backwards:
See the end as your beginning. Have a very clear picture of the type of lifestyle you wish to experience going forward. Do you want to be playing in the park at 85 with your grandchild or spouse, laughing and enjoying every moment on the planet? What does a typical day look like for you? Where do you live? How do you spend your time? How independent are you? Feel what it will be like to have this experience.

2. Name and face your obstacles:
What obstacles, if any, do you see in your way that will possibly hold you back from having this lifestyle? What actions do you have to take to ensure these perceived obstacles do not become reality? Take concrete actions every day to move forward in a healthy lifestyle. Move, eat, drink, think to create this ideal. If you have a thought that takes you away from your desire, simply change it. You have control over your thoughts. There are many methods to learn how to do so. Ask me if you don’t know where to begin with that.

3. End and start each day with gratitude:
Every day, write down in a gratitude journal five things you are grateful for. This will help you focus on the positive in your life and reprogram the negative.

Noticing and reflecting on why you think the thoughts you do go a long way to creating the person you wish to be inside and out. Don’t assume you don’t have power over your thoughts – you do. Thoughts become things. Tell yourself often that you are beautiful, resourceful, intelligent, funny, healthy and anything else you desire to be. Think yourself AWESOME!

Till next month ,
Love and Light to all,

Sandra
