Parvati Magazine: In your opinion, what makes Pilates so transformative?
Cassey Ho: Pilates will transform your body because it teaches you how to move functionally while building strength, gaining flexibility and improving posture. It makes you fitter for life. Pilates focuses heavily on the core—your powerhouse, where all your strength comes from. You will tone up and tighten every inch of your body with emphasis on your abs. My format, POP Pilates, includes the fundamentals of classical Pilates while also including fat-burning exercises and faster-pace moves done to the beat of Top 40 hits. It’s a fun workout that will not only change your body, but make you happier and look forward to working out! That is a transformation in and of itself.
Parvati Magazine: What has been your most inspiring moment while teaching?
Cassey Ho: When I meet POPsters after class and they tell me how POP and Blogilates has changed their life, not just physically, but it has helped them get through eating disorders, or depression, that is what keeps me going. That is what truly inspires me to create this loving and supportive community.
Parvati Magazine: What is your favourite way to add fun to a class?
Cassey Ho: Great music! Music is what motivates me and inspires my workouts. So a good playlist is key to having a fun workout that is still intense!
Parvati Magazine: What do you think the biggest challenge is for people in getting fit, and how do you help them get past it?
People get bored with workouts. They find them redundant and then they don’t stick with their routine. My goal is to help people simplify health and fitness while keeping it fresh and fun! I’m always thinking of new routines and workouts so they are never bored. I also make eating clean cheap and easy for people with my recipes. I know that cooking and meal prepping can be hard, so I make it easy for them! It’s all about organization, balance and enjoying your lifestyle.
Parvati Magazine: If you could wave a magic wand and make a gift appear under the pillows of all your fans and followers while they sleep tonight, what would the gift be and why?
Cassey Ho: The ability to love their bodies and themselves at all stages of their journey. I see so many young girls upset and down on themselves because they haven’t lost a certain amount of weight or they don’t like their body. Once you start loving yourself, and treating yourself right, you will find true happiness. And that’s what I want for everyone.
