MARCH 2019: SERENITY

Welcome to the March 2019 issue of Parvati Magazine.

In today’s fast-paced world, serenity may seem hard to find. Yet, it is available to us in every moment. It is even as close to us as our breath. By choosing to breathe mindfully in the moment, we can find not only deep relaxation, but tremendous energy and a sense of interconnection with all that is.

As we at Parvati Magazine and Parvati.org work to realize MAPS (the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary), we commit to our own inner peace sanctuary: a choice to express peace in all we do. This keeps us centred as we prepare for the United Nations Environmental Assembly meeting March 11-15 in Nairobi, Kenya. It is so inspiring to see MAPS grassroots initiatives grow worldwide, in particular in Africa now, in support of UNEA.

A recent article by Harvard Business Review summarized the qualities of an effective movement as clear purpose, values, working in small groups, engagement rather than rhetoric, and overcoming resistance. MAPS has the clear purpose of protecting all life by safeguarding the Arctic Ocean north of the Arctic Circle from exploitation. Our team commits to the values of interconnection, compassion, equality, service and action. We work in small, enthusiastic groups all over the world. Our approach has always been co-creative. We will sit down with anyone, regardless of their background or industry, who is open to the necessity to protect all life with MAPS. And we have no political or religious affiliation and no financial interests in MAPS. We are motivated by serving a world in need. This is how we have gained so many allies globally, from NGOs to industry moguls and heads of state.

In this month’s issue, on the theme of Serenity, you will hear from people who have found courage and grace in doing what is meaningful—from Juno nominees Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine and Johnny Orlando to the latest Yogis Unite ambassador, the ocean activist and Blissology yogi Eoin Finn; from Solvatten’s clean hot water initiative to Faithless founder and creative powerhouse Jamie Catto’s transformational workshops; with a meditation from yours truly to help you reconnect with serenity; and much, much more.

Enjoy!

OnWord

Thank you for reading the March 2019 issue of Parvati Magazine.

The more we choose harmony and interconnection, the more we experience that in the world and within ourselves. It helps us remember that we are part of a greater whole, and stay focused on love, kindness and forgiveness. It gives us the courage to do our dharma, that which is rightfully ours to do.

As we look ahead to UNEA-4, a pivotal opportunity for nations to take a stand for life on Earth, may you find serenity in the courage of your convictions and live your truth in every moment.

Love yourself.
Love others.
Love our world.
We are one Earth family.
